Back in April, I had the pleasure of attending 'The Great Gatsby' at the London Coliseum. I have loved 'The Great Gatsby' since I studied the text during my A Level English Literature, so I was so excited to attend the musical version of one of my favourite novels.

The theatre was absolutely stunning - both inside and out. It is by far one of the best theatre venues I have attended. The merch looked incredible, which unfortunately I did not buy - but I very much regret that decision now! Taking my seat, I was eager with anticipation as the show begun.

The cast of 'The Great Gatsby' were absolutely phenomenal. Admittedly I had only heard the 'New Money' soundtrack prior to viewing the show, so as each musical number progressed I found myself falling in love with the songs, the cast, the storyline and the characters. Amber Davies, who portrayed the iconic Jordan Baker, absolutely blew me away with her choreography and her powerhouse of a voice during 'New Money'.

All of the cast put on an incredible show, the choreography, costumes and musical numbers uplifted their talent. I had previously seen Jamie Muscato, who portrayed Jay Gatsby, in Moulin Rouge, so I was overjoyed when I found out who would take on this lead role. My expectations were more than filled - Jamie's rendition of 'Past is Catching Up To Me' is one that I will always remember.

The Great Gatsby tells the story with emotion and perfection, which is portrayed with precision from the cast. The songs are catchy, uplifting and filled with fun - during the interval I made sure to add the whole soundtrack to my Spotify playlist! Ever since I saw the show I find myself singing the Gatsby songs - they are incredible!

I am so thankful to the cast of Gatsby for taking me on a journey to the Roaring 20s. This musical will always hold a special place in my heart and I would love to see it again and again. If you haven't caught The Great Gatsby on their limited run yet - then now is your chance, you do not want to miss it!
